Brands Abroad: Int’l Trademark Issues – program at the NYCBA on 10/16/12 Reply

As a member of the trademark committee at the NY City Bar Association I am working with a group of fantastic colleagues to put together and host a program on International Trademark Issues.  Here are details about the event:

Title: Brands Abroad: Int’l Trademark Issues Facing In-House Counsel & Those Who Advise Them

Date & Time:  October, 16th 6-8pm  (FREE program)

Location: 42 West 44th Street, NYC

Register at: http://www2.nycbar.org/EventsCalendar/show_event_new.php?eventid=2014

Program Description:  This panel will discuss strategies and suggestions that can aid in-house legal staff, and their outside counsel, in navigating the perilous waters that they may encounter when managing cross-border brands. When brands are used in multiple countries and continents, the challenges can include developing cost-effective searching, registration, protection, budgetary realities, local policing philosophies, managing business expectations, and institutional challenges.

Speakers: DOREEN L. COSTA, Head of Trademark, Copyright and Advertising Group, Baker Botts, LLP; JOHN M. BERGIN, Chief Trademark & Copyright Counsel, Avon Products, Inc.; CLARK W. LACKERT, Dickstein Shapiro, LLP

Sponsored by: Committee on Trademarks & Unfair Competition, at the NY City Bar Association

You are invited to attend.  I look forward to connecting with you there.

[ps you can wish me Happy Birthday when you see me at the program… because it’s the day before my birthday.]
